“Fresh Rx Express” is a program in development that will mobilize our mission by bringing fresh produce via a bus/van to low-income areas of Palm Beach County tackling barriers presented by neighborhood/built environment, economic stability, and other social determinants of health. Food and nutrition are widely known to improve one’s health, however minorities are oftentimes, in addition to predispositions to health issues, confronted with limited access to affordable healthy food options. Due to location, transportation, finances, or cultural preferences, healthy food options are sometimes simply not an option for minorities and Fresh Rx aims to change that.
